🤖 Snapchat’s AI Goes Rogue
It felt like something from a sci-fi movie.
On Tuesday night, Snapchat’s My AI tool went full rogue and freaked out a whole lot of people. Snapchat claims it was a glitch, but the response is telling.
It’s pretty hard to stay calm when your AI companion starts posting videos to it’s story and stops responding.
That’s right. After completely ghosting Snapchat users, it posted a short video to it’s story, that seemed to be a random clip of a blank wall.
Users started to get pretty freaked to say the least. Posting a story is meant for only human users. One guy said, “Why does My AI have a video of the wall and ceiling in their house as their story?”
After getting ghosted, a seemingly depressed user said, “Even a robot ain’t got time for me.”
Lol.
I’m not sure what the hell happened, and I’m guessing it actually was a glitch, but I like the whole AI is going rogue narrative instead.
Makes it more entertaining.

We’ve mentioned HeyGen before, but now they’re on a whole different planet with this new upgrade. The AI generated avatar is now extremely realistic and it’s almost impossible to differentiate between real and fake. Check out the video here.
An AI system was trained to recreate a clip of Pink Floyd's song "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 1" by analyzing brain activity recorded from people listening to the song.
The AI learned links between brain signals and musical elements of the song, such as pitch and rhythm, and generated a clip that was 43% similar to the original song, based on spectrogram analysis.
Remember this song? It was made by Lupe Fiasco. He just teamed up with Google to make a suite of AI tools… for rappers. The platform is called TextFX. The goal isn’t to write songs for them - that would take out the soul of it, but rather help them harness AI to make songs easier and faster. I think of it as having a Magic 8 Ball for lyrics.
