Throughout the creation of The AI Crunch, weāve always been Sam Altman fans, but this isā¦. a little bit sketchy.
Worldcoin, a crypto company, created by Sam himself, aims to verify everyoneās āhumannessā by scanning their eyes in exchange for some crypto tokens (roughly $50 worth).
After 2 million eyeballs scanned across 30+ countries, Worldcoin is getting some backlash from several nations.
Itās been launched in 4 European countries, and rapidly following it, privacy regulators have launched full scale investigations on Worldcoins use of personal data.
The main point of the debate is āconsent.ā Debates are occurring on whether this consent is real or, I guess, coerced in a way - because they pay you to do it.
Why you should care: The rapid advancement of tech is leading to a world where personal data is the new gold. The question is, are we fully prepared to handle the unknown consequences of a total lack of privacy, and can we stop it from getting into the wrong hands?

Googleās internal emails give hints that theyāve begun integrating AI directly to their Assistant.
Whatās baffling to me is that Alexa and Siri havenāt been beefed up at all with LLMs yet, but Google is now making a start. Remember a few weeks ago that I predicted ChatGPT would be in Alexaās and it would make our lives 10x easier?
Yeah, thatās whatās happening right now. Google is trying to stay in the race with Amazon, whoās been developing strategic partnerships to bring AI products like Bedrock.
For me, I donāt care which company wins the battle. All I care about is which company can give me a real life version of J.A.R.V.I.S first!
